NOT HANDS

remember when Ben freaked out? no? well, he did. but he's not freaking out now, so he's okay.

after i saw he freaked out, i thought i'd freak out a bit, too. tried turning some instastress and tension into productive energy and made a reflective comic about my momentary woes.

Hourly Comic Day 20X

20X. that's the probably-not-new way of saying 2010.

oh man you guys. i did some hourly comics this year for Hourly Comic Day. February 1st was the official day, but i'm pretty sure you can make any day Hourly Comic Day if you wanted. you can find out more info about it here at the OFFICIAL SITE. and be sure to read John Campbell's comics on that site, too. the guy is crazy dedicated that he does it for the whole month of January as a big lead-in to Hourly Comic Day. crazy. but really good. read mine and then read those.

felt like drawing ladies so i drew up a lady.

Misses Ellen Sunday And Her Fantastic Cats will be swinging round The Trunk Space to rustle up some good times, some trouble and some fun!! they are a sweet Acoustic/Bluegrass/Crunk/Western Swing band hailing from Baltimore!!

this'll be happening on Monday January 4th IN THE YEAR 2010!!

but if you are reading this and are chilling in Tucson, they will be hitting up Dry River the day before, January 3rd IN THE YEAR 2010!!

and if you're somewhere that is not Arizona!!...you'll have to check their myspace to see where else they will be playing on their tour...sorry. :X

also playing at The Trunk Space that night will be local acts Haymarket Squares and Tierra Del Fuego!!!

here is another flier for another awesome show that is happening this awesomemonth. it is on December 22nd at The Trunk Space here in Phoenix so there should be plenty of time to truck on over to check them out.

the headliner for the show is O PIONEERS!!!
according to their myspace page, they are an eclectic fusion of folk and hardcore. CRAZY. but not really because they sort of sound like Against Me!...maybe? that's what came to mind when listening to O Pioneers!!! so if you like things that fuse or folkhardcore fusion or Against Me! or just plain old having fun listening to live music, you should check them out!

also! my friend TK's band BANGARANG will be playing with them as well!

marker time

Prismacolor markers are some pretty powerfully potent things. pheww... i wanna mess with them some more, but i think the next time i do, it'll be with an open window and a fan going.

this is a marker piece of a character from yet another project i am trying to work through. her name is Winnifred, but she goes by Freddie. i almost didn't finish this because i thought i was getting a bit overkill and directionless in the coloring, but i'm glad i kept on keeping on and finished it up.

this is just a long tall lady. i tried working with negative shapes first and then went in with a Stabilo pen to do the details up pretty like. kinda tall, her head hit the top of the paper.
